Crime Details as on : 17 May 2024
- 16 May 2024 A resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on Apr 29, 2024, one person introduced himself as one Jayanta Bora of HDFC, Khanapara, Guwahati along with five others, forcibly took away his Grand i10 car (ML-05S-3862) and informed him to pay Rs. 40,000/- to get back the vehicle. Later, the complainant learnt from HDFC Bank, Rukmini Gaon Branch, Guwahati that no employee with such name is working in the Branch
- 16 May 2024 Shri Babatskhem Thabah lodged a complaint that on May 15, two unidentified scooter borne miscreants assaulted him at Boucher Road, Shillong and forcibly took away his bag containing Rs. 8.5 lakh.
- 16 May 2024 A female resident of a locality in South West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on May 6 around 12.39 pm, she received an anonymous text message with a link and OTP regarding SBI Reward Point. After clicking the provided link, she found that Rs. 49,999/- was debited from her Bank account.
- 16 May 2024 Smt. Phaidalin Kharlyngiong lodged a complaint that on May 5 at about 2 am, one alleged accused person viz., E Ïawphniaw, broke into her shop at Mawthawpdah village (SWKH) and committed theft. The complainant further stated that the alleged accused person had also stolen approximately Rs. 3,000/- from the shop of Smt. Magdalina Shangpliang.
- 16 May 2024 Headman of Shyrmang village (WJH) lodged a complaint that on May 15 around 6 pm, volunteers of the village apprehended one Kmaibok Kynjing (41 yrs) inside the Wild Life Sanctuary at the village and also recovered firearms from his possession.
- 16 May 2024 On May 11, one Shri Kyrmen Lyngdoh (35 yrs) of Erpakon village under Nongpoh PS (RB) was reported brought dead at CH Nongpoh.
- 16 May 2024 On May 15 evening, Police received information that one Baburam Marak (56 yrs) was found dead at Rongrong Antidam village (EGH). Later, it transpired that earlier a scuffle broke out between the deceased and one Peterson N Sangma (36 yrs) at the PO. In this connection, Police arrested the accused.
- 16 May 2024 Shri Jonathan A Sangma lodged a complaint that on May 15 at about 9 pm, one Aloysious, (who claimed to be the Nokma of Gonglanggre village, West Garo Hills), assaulted the complainant, one truck driver and his helper at the Transport Department Weighbridge at Gonglanggre, created nuisance and also threatened other truckers.
- 16 May 2024 On May 15 evening, Jengjal Police intercepted one truck (AS-25EC-4876) driven by Giyasuddin Ali, with consignment (blankets) valued around Rs. 7 lakh which was supposed to be delivered to one Anand Kr Saha of Malikona, Baghmara (SGH), at a place under Jengjal PS (WGH). During checking, Police found that the e-Way Bills were suspicious in nature. Later, the trucker attempted to flee from the PO, however, he was apprehended by Police and in the process he sustained minor injuries.
