- A resident of a locality in East Khasi Hills lodged (Nov 16) a complaint that on Sep 21, 2024, he received anonymous phone calls, wherein the caller introduced himself as an executive of ‘Flipkart’ and asked him to pay Rs. 1,999/- online, for the item he ordered from Flipkart, to which he complied. Later, the caller informed him that he did not receive the money due to technical issue and informed him to send the money again. After a while, the caller informed that he had received both the transactions and asked him for his bank details, in order to refund the excess paid money. Later, the complainant found that two transactions amounting to Rs. 43,000/- and Rs. 90,000/- took place from his Bank account without his knowledge.

During enquiry, it transpired that the foreign nationals entered into Indian Territory, in the month of June / July, 2020, through Lalgola Murshudabad (WB) and they were proceeding to Dalugaon village, reportedly with an intention to return back to Bangladesh, without valid documents.

However, the named foreign nationals could not provide any related documents.

However, till date, Akhil Roy failed to deliver the products.

- Shri Aman R Marak lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of Oct 19 & 20, unknown miscreant(s) stole his brand new motorcycle from Fire Brigade, Shillong.
- On Oct 22 evening, acting on inputs, Police arrested one Suraj Masih and three women viz., (1) Altima Khatun, (2) Gulasha Begum and (3) Jumila Khatun from Umsohsun, Shillong and recovered / seized (1) 19.4 grams of suspected heroin, (2) five mobile phones and (3) cash Rs. 81,610/- from their possession.
- Shri Shyamal Paul lodged a complaint that on Oct 21, one Bangladeshi national viz., Dilwar Hassan (22 yrs) boarded one vehicle, in which he was also travelling, at Umsning (RB) for Shillong. The Bangladeshi national de-boarded from the vehicle at Jhalupara, Shillong and informed the driver that he lost his belongings including money, passport, visa, etc., while he was coming from Mumbai. Later, the complainant handed over the Bangladeshi national to Police at Jhalupara OP, Shillong

- A female resident of West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that in the year 2021, one of her Facebook friends ‘Dean Donald’ offered financial assistance and instructed her to open two Banks accounts and sent the account details to him at Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, to which she complied. However, the complainant did not receive any financial assistance. On Oct 14, she received a notice from Thadiyittaparamn PS, Kerala, informing her that her bank accounts have been involved in illegal activities and have been frozen. Later, she realized that Dean Donald had used her banks accounts for illegal activities.
- A female resident of a village in Eastern West Khasi Hills lodged (Oct 21) a complaint that unknown miscreants (2/3) convinced her through WhatsApp and Telegram accounts to deposit Rs. 95,830/-, with a promise of high returns. Further, On Oct 20 around 11.43 am, the miscreants again asked her to deposit Rs. 10,000/- in their accounts to enable her to withdraw her money to which she complied. However, later, she realized that she has been cheated.

- Chowkidar, District & Session Court, Williamnagar (EGH) lodged a complaint that on Oct 20, one unidentified drone was found hovering in the Court premises.
- A resident of a village in West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on Jan 10, 2024, he bought one motorcycle (AS-18G-1056) from RH Second Hand Bike Showroom, Paikan, Assam. However, on Oct 19, he was detained by Mendipathar Police and on verifying it transpired that the details of the motorcycle did not match with the information in the data base and that the same was flagged as stolen property vide Howly PS Case No. 243/2019.
- On Oct 21, acting on inputs, Police conducted checking at Aidoba, SH-6 (SWGH) and apprehended two persons viz., (1) Chuang Ch Marak (26 yrs) and (2) Lechang Ch Marak (20 yrs) and also recovered / seized 0.56 grams of suspected heroin.

- A woman from a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on Oct 17 around 8 pm, her estranged husband assaulted her in her residence. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong. Later, the residents of the locality apprehended the accused.
- A female resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on Oct 18, in response to an advertisement in ‘Instagram’ regarding ‘Kerala online lottery’ she purchased a lottery ticket for Rs. 40/- and won lottery prize money of Rs. 5 lakh, which was later sent to her Bank account. Later, she was also asked to provide another Bank account to which she complied and after few days the same was frozen.

Further, the complainant stated that the unidentified person also took away a slip issued against the unloaded tree barks and one mobile phone of his associate.

- On Oct 19, Police along with BSF personnel of B-Coy, 200 Bn., BSF (SGH) conducted operation along the Indo-Bangladesh Border under Rongara PS (SGH) and spotted two suspected smugglers near BP No. 1173/7-S. However, the suspected smugglers managed to flee leaving behind two hand bags containing (1) cintodac capsules, 19 packets (2) antioxipan DS, 150 packets, (3) soft gel capsules, two packets, (4) Razo 20 tablets, (5) fenolip, 145 tablets, etc., total valued around Rs. 79,443/-. Investigation is on.

Later, Rs. 27,634/- was found to have been debited from his SBI Credit Card.

- Shri Tarun Joshi lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of Oct 15 & 16, unknown miscreant(s) stole his Maruti Eeco van (ML-05V-2933) from TB Hospital Road, Barapathar, Shillong.
- A resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that in the month of March 2024, while responding to an online advertisement ‘Tips on Stock’ on Instagram, one woman viz., Ankita, convinced him to invest Rs. 90,000/-, with a promise of high returns. Later, the complainant realized that he has been cheated.
- Shri Henry Manner lodged a complaint that on Oct 16 around 1.30 am, seven suspected Bangladeshi nationals armed with daggers, hammers, etc., assaulted three drivers viz., (1) Shri Gliten Pale, (2) Shri Nicky Phawa and (3) Shri Edamon Pyrtuh of two limestone laden trucks (1) ML-04A-5216 and (2) ML-04B-4109 at Darrang Junction, NH-206 (WJH) and looted cash, mobile phones, etc., from them. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and were admitted at CHC Nongtalang, from where Shri Edamon Pyrtuh was referred to CH Jowai. After committing the crime, the Bangladeshi nationals went to Bakur village (WJH), where they assaulted one Shri Lahripa Lamin, driver of one Maruti Alto car (ML-05Z-5449) took away his mobile phone, damaged the vehicle and fled away. Later, Police along with residents of Bakur village managed to apprehend one Bangladeshi national viz., Apsulmian Raju (21 yrs) who could not produce any valid documents.
- On Oct 16 around 2 pm, unidentified Bangladeshi national, armed with a dagger, robbeb two motorcycles riders of their belongings and also took away their motorcycles at a place after crossing Netri BSF Camp (SGH).

- On Oct 15 at about 6.45 pm, BSF personnel apprehended one Bangladeshi national viz., Md. Hussain Ahmed (48 yrs) at a place under BOP Lyngkhat, Pynursla (EKH) and recovered five bags of sugar valued around Rs. 10,000/-, which was meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
- Shri Pynjanai Nongsiej lodged a complaint that on Oct 15, unknown miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05U-1555) from Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
- A case have been registered against one Plandar Maram Umiong (49 yrs), one Phastar Rngaid (26 yrs) and their two accomplices, following complaints from six different complainants against the aforementioned accused persons for stealing their livestock in the months of January, April, May, July, September and October, 2024 from Lawbyrtun village (EWKH). Police arrested the named accused persons.
- hri Kenny D Kharkongor lodged (Oct 14) a complaint that unknown miscreant(s) stole his Jeep (ML-05-4956) along with one generator and wires from Mawthei village under Umiam PS (RB).
- A resident of Kandargaon village under Rajabala PS (WGH) lodged a complaint that on Oct 13 around 11 pm, five residents of the same village assaulted his brother at the village. As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries and was shifted to a hospital.
- On Oct 15, acting on inputs, Police intercepted one motorcycle (ML-09A-0956) along with two persons viz., (1) Nigam A Sangma (27 yrs) and (2) Smt. Dellina Ch Sangma (32 yrs) at Monabari (SWGH) and recovered / seized 0.32 grams of suspected heroin.

Later, the complainant realized that she has been cheated.
- Shri Esisterfil Nongsiej lodged a complaint that on Oct 14 at about 7 am, his motorcycle (ML-05U-3294) was found missing from Sohpian village (WKH).
- Smt. O Phyllut lodged a complaint that on Oct 13 evening, unknown miscreant(s) broke into her house and the house of one Smt. I Phyllut at Nartiang village (WJH) and stole total amount of Rs. 20,000/- from their houses.
- A woman from a locality in Tura (WGH) lodged a complaint that she gave her auto-rickshaw (ML-05F-0790) to one Nikhil on a daily rent basis. However, the accused failed to pay the rent for the last two months and also threatened her with dire consequences.

- On Oct 13 at about 7.30 pm, one Shri Elmis Marak (20 yrs), was reportedly assaulted by his own friend at Ïewduh, Shillong. As a result, he sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong.
- Smt. Sanjana Devi lodged a complaint that on Oct 9 evening, unknown miscreant(s) broke into her residence at Pynthorbah, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 3 lakh.
- Shri Melaai Syiemlieh lodged a complaint that on Oct 9, he was informed that unknown miscreant(s) stole two RRUs valued around Rs. 4 lakh from a tower site at Mawten village (SWKH).
- A woman (proprietor of East Jaiñtia Hills based company) lodged a complaint against one Subrat Kumar Barik, MD of M/s Girod Management & Advisory and his accomplices, alleging them of cheating her husband and his business partner of Rs. 2 Crore in an investment deal, on Sep 30, 2024 & Oct 1, 2024.
- Party Commander, A-Coy, 4th Bn., BSF, BOP Rongtilla lodged a complaint that on Oct 13 around 2.15 am, BSF detected eleven head of cattle (buffaloes) from a place near BP No. 1281/6-S (WJH).
- Shri Malsin Momin of Gongrang Chikret village under Songsak PS (EGH), lodged a complaint that on the night of Oct 8, unknown miscreant(s) stole JJM Solar water pump from the village.
- On Sep 30, 2024 around 8 am, Police detected four Bangladeshi nationals viz., (1) Md Bilal Ali (18 yrs), (2) Md. Imani Ali (21 yrs), (3) Md. Ibrahim Ali (28 yrs) and (4) Md. Nasirul Islam (27 yrs) from one tourist vehicle (AS-01RC-8779) at Jengjal (WGH) and also recovered Bangladeshi and Indian currencies from their possession. However, the foreign nationals failed to produce any valid documents. Police arrested the intruders.
- A male resident of Tilapara, Rajabala (WGH) lodged a complaint that on Oct 10 at about 3:30 pm, five residents of Rajabala (WGH), armed with sticks and sharp weapons, assaulted him and his family members in his residential premises, in connection with matters relating to land dispute, and also snatched away Rs. 5,000/-from him.
- A female resident of Tilapara, Rajabala (WGH) lodged a complaint that on Oct 10 circa 2 pm, four residents of Rajabala (WGH) including one woman, planted trees in a disputed land allegedly with an intention to occupy the land and also attempted to assault her, while confronting / preventing them from carrying out the activity.
- Shri Rezaur Rahman lodged a complaint against one Ful Mamud Sk., and ten others, alleging that on Oct 10 around 9.30 am, the alleged accused persons (armed with iron rods and sticks) attempted to take away sixty-three head of seized cattle, which he received from Rongram OP to be kept in his ‘Gaushala’ at Rajpur (WGH). However, when the complainant prevented them, the alleged accused persons assaulted him, damaged his new motorcycle and also took away one mobile phone and cash Rs. 30,000/-.

- On Oct 12 around 3.10 am, one Roshan Yadav (28 yrs) reportedly stabbed one Shri Sumit Kumar Rai (21 yrs), while he was on the way to his residence at Lumdiengmet, Umpling, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong. Police apprehended the accused.
- Coy Commander, D-Coy, 4th Bn., BSF, BOP Naljuri lodged a complaint that Oct 9 around 6.15 pm, BSF personnel recovered five head of cattle from a place near BP No. 1279/5-S (WJH), reportedly meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
- Coy-Commander, G-Coy, 100th Bn., BSF, BOP Kuludhar (WGH), lodged a complaint that on Oct 10 around 5.30 pm, BSF personnel apprehended one Bangladeshi national viz., Md. Robiul Islam @ Robin Khondokar (32 yrs) from a jungle near the Indo-Bangladesh border, in the AOR of BOP Chichengpara and also recovered cash Rs. 10,000/-, two mobile phones and Bangla national ID card from his possession.

- Headmistress of Albin Lamare Memorial Secondary School, Nangbah (WJH) lodged a complaint that on Oct 7, unknown miscreant(s) stole one CPU, two inverter batteries and one projector from the school building.
