POWAC

At the initiative of Shri DNS Srivastava, IPS, the then DGP Meghalaya, the Police Officer's Wives' Association for care (POWAC) was founded on 29th January 1994 with Mrs Srivastava as the President, Mrs C Sailo and Mrs Anita Dey as Vice Presidents, Mrs Enit Basaiawmoit as General Secretary

The POWAC was formally inaugurated by (L) Mrs Marian Pariat Wife of Shri J.M. Pariat the then Home Minister on the 26th March 1994 at the Police Officers' Mess, Golf Links, Shillong
