1st Meghalaya Police Battalion-Training Centre
VARIOUS TRAINING CONDUCTED :
The Training Centre is imparting training to various ranks of the Meghalaya Police, viz. AB/UB and Fire Service inspite of non recognition of the training centre.

FIRING RANGE:
The Firing Range is being allotted to various Central Para Military Forces and different units of the Meghalaya Police like CRPF, CTI Civil Defence & Home Guard, ITBP, Special Branch-I, Jail Police, Police Training School.
GLIMPSES OF FIRING RANGE AND FIRERS
“She will be the first girl from the North East to conquer the 8,848 ft Mount Everest ”.This is the dream of 26 year old BNWPC/355 Wansuk Myrthong, an Armed Branch Constable of 1st MLP Battalion. For those who came in late, Wansuk is the only woman among 60 persons selected for a mountaineering expedition of Mount Everest in January or February 2009.
BNWPC/355 Wansuk Myrthong recent experience at the 81st Basic Mountaineering Course of Indo-Tibetan Border Police in Auli, Uttaranchal with the 59 other trainers from different states has encouraged her to dream high and she is all set to make her dream come true.
BNWPC/355 Wansuk Myrthong started rock climbing in 2004 when she participated in a camp organised by Meghalaya Rock Climbing and Mountaineering Association at Lumparing. Gradually with time she learned a lot from the trekking expeditios.
She was interested in sports and played almost all games. Right from school to college she liked to participate in football, cricket, high jump, marathon and badminton. It is her love for sports that inspired her to go for mountaineering.
Today, she has made everyone proud including her parents, 1st MLP Battalion and Meghalaya in general. She awaits the day when she would climb the highest mountain on earth.
